Order form

For bakeries, makers, fundraisers and small shops taking orders without an online store. Each product has its own quantity box, so the sheet gets numbers you can add up. Sort by date for the next day's list, and filter by 'Delivery' to plan the run.

What this form asks, and why

  • Namerequired Who the order is for, as it goes on the label.
  • Emailrequired Where the confirmation, total and payment details go.
  • Phonerequired For delivery-day problems such as nobody answering the door.
  • Classic box: how many? One number field per product: written as a number, so a second tab can multiply it by the price.
  • Family box: how many? Whole numbers only, with a cap that stops a typo ordering 200.
  • Gift hamper: how many? Leave all three at 0 and the order is empty: the form can't require 'at least one', so check for blank rows.
  • Pickup or delivery?required Splits the sheet into a pickup list and a delivery run.
  • Delivery address (if delivering) Only needed for delivery; pickup customers leave it blank.
  • Pickup or delivery daterequired Written as YYYY-MM-DD; sort by it to see what's due first.
  • Order notes For messages on gift cards and allergy questions.

Fields people often add

  • Gift message
  • Preferred delivery time window
  • Discount or member code

Common mistakes

  • Expecting the form to show a total or take payment: it does neither. On a second tab, multiply each quantity column by its price, and say on the form how people will pay.
  • One 'items' text box for the whole order: you can't count '2 classic + a hamper'. A quantity field per product keeps every order countable.
  • Selling out without noticing: when a product runs out, remove its field and republish the form; past orders keep their column.
  • No status columns: add 'Paid' and 'Done' to the sheet so nothing ships unpaid. Columns you add are kept.
